The Kefir Culture Blend (C-Fir) is a curated combination of freeze-dried starter cultures designed to yield a frothy kefir. The resulting product closely resembles that derived from kefir grains, showcasing similarities in lactic acid production, pH, and viscosity.

 

Contains: Mesophilic bacterial culture (proprietary blend), Kluyveromyces marxianus, lactose

Storage Conditions: Store in the freezer

Usage Info: 1/4 tsp per 1/2 gallon and 1/2 tsp. per 1-2 gallon(s) milk. Incubate at 72°F-74°F for 12-16 hours until thick and creamy.

    After a long time of using grains for kefir I wasn’t sure about switching to a culture. I was pleased with the result. The consistency was smooth and the taste is more mild than my grain-made kefir. It wasn’t until I ran out of the culture and had to go back to the grain that I realized how streamlined the process is which saves me time in the kitchen. It’s so simple, add culture, that’s it: no straining for grains. I’m back to order the large size jar.
